How to order

A customer account at finestvinyl allows you to:

  • Save your billing and shipping addresses so you don’t have to type them in each time you order

  • Track your order shipment (please note: this might not be available depending on which country you’re ordering from)

  • Review your order history

  • Manage your voucher codes/gift certificates

  • Receive special offers/discounts that are only available to registered customers

 

You would like to open a customer account with finestvinyl? Great!

Simply click on “register now” below the customer log-in on the top right of our welcome page. Alternatively, you will be given the opportunity to register for a customer account during the ordering process. Of course you can delete your customer account (all the way to the bottom in “my account”) any time. Obviously, we would be sorry to see you go.

 

Ordering as a registered finestvinyl customer

Once you’ve registered for a finestvinyl customer account, you can log onto your account at the top right corner of our welcome page using your e-mail address und password. You can then browse our shop and buy records, merchandise and accessories. You put items in your shopping basket (as we’re a vinyl mailorder, we call it “record bag”) by clicking the “BUY”-button on the detailed product page. Here you can use the drop-down menu to change the number of items you would like to order and the colour and size of merchandise before you put the item into your record bag. Once you’ve put an item into your record bag you can either keep browsing or start the order process. If you’d like to review your shopping bag while you’re browsing, simply click on “my record bag” (top right corner) or the orange bookmark (“basket”) at the top of the page.

 

Order process

A click on “my record bag“ or “basket” will let you review your order and make changes. Below the overview of the items you can redeem a voucher code or a gift certificate.

Step 1: your details (billing address, shipping address)

Step 2: shipping method (please note: there may be only a single option for your country)

Step 3: payment method 

Step 4: order overview, payment details, final order and payment by clicking on “BUY”

 

Wishlist

The wishlist function allows registered customers to store items that you’re interested in but do not want to buy straight away until your next visit (or the one after that or the one after that…) until you finally want to buy the item. You can delete items from your wishlist whenever you're logged into your account.

 

Ordering without a finestvinyl account

Simply follow the steps detailed under “Order Process”. Shopping as a guest you will have to type in your personal details with each new order. You will not be able to keep a wishlist or to redeem/manage voucher codes or gift certificates. Our tracking service and the personal order history is only available to registered customers.

 

Voucher Code/Gift Certificate 

You’ve been given a finestvinyl gift certificate or received one of our promotional voucher codes? Please note that you will need to register as a customer in order to access/save a remaining balance until your next purchase. Simply enter the voucher code during the check out process and click on "redeem" to redeem your voucher code. Please note that you will only be able to enter one voucher code per order.

Shipping Costs

Basic Shipping fee is $10.00 with $2 added for any further item. 

We reserve the right to get back to you in case of bulky items (box sets etc.) resulting in higher freight charges with AusPost.

We do not currently ship to Tasmania, Norfolk Islands, Christmas& Cocos Islands, the Australian Antartic Territory or New Zealand. Please contact our customer service to see whether we can find a way to get fresh vinyl onto your turntable. 

We ship using heavy duty, custom made vinyl mailers to ensure safe transportation. 

Delivery Time

Please refer to the table above to find out about average delivery times and shipping costs for your state. Your order will usually be shipped on the same day when you pay by credit card or PayPal – that is if your order is processed before noon (CET+1h) and every item in your order is in stock. At the weekend or on local holidays your order will be processed on the next working day. Of course the estimated delivery times are not valid for pre-order items that will be shipped on the release date nor for items that are not in stock at the time of ordering.

You will be notified by e-mail about the progress of your order. Clicking on “my orders” in your customer account allows you to review your orders and to track your shipment so you can anticipate when your order finally arrives at its destination. Please note: the tracking service might not be available for shipments into your country.



Pre-Order/Out of stock/extended delivery time

If your order contains a pre-order item it will be shipped on the item’s release day. The item detail page specifies the release date. If the same order contains items that are in stock it will only be shipped once the items of the entire order are available, i.e. once the pre-order item is officially released. Partial shipments are possible. Please contact our customer service on mail@finestvinyl.com.au to arrange a delivery. Please note that this will result in higher shipping costs.

This is how you return a faulty item to finestvinyl

Refunds and exchanges
In the unlikely event that you receive a product that you consider to be faulty or damaged you must notify us in writing within twenty-four hours of receipt and must be returned and received by us within 7 days of such notice. Any failure to notify Finest Vinyl within the timeframe specified shall be deemed acceptance by you that the product is free from any damage whatsoever. Returned products shall be subject to inspection by Finest Vinyl prior to any exchanges, repairs or credits being granted. To the extent allowed under law, no refunds will be provided for any defects that can be reasonably rectified.
 
Please choose carefully before placing an order. We cannot offer refunds for change of mind or wrong selection. We may allow exchanges at our absolute discretion, subject to product availability, and at our reasonable discretion. Should the exchange product not be available at the time of exchange, a credit note will be issued.
 
In order to be fully eligible for an exchange or return, you must:
•        Contact us with the request and reason for the return via email to info@finestvinyl.com within 24 hours of delivery.
•        Return the product as new, unworn and unwashed, properly protected, with its original packaging, in the condition delivered (no additional damage) together with any accessories, tags, instructions and documentation, within 7 days for Australian customers and 14 days for international customers, of notice to us;
•        Return the product with original invoice received identifying the order.
 
If any legislation operates to prohibit or restrict the exclusion, restriction or modification of any implied warranties, conditions or obligations, then to the full extent permitted by law, Finest Vinyl limits its liability in respect of any such claim to, at its option:
 
(i)      the replacement of the goods or the supply of equivalent goods; 
 
(ii)      the repair of the goods;
 
(iii)     the payment of the cost of repairing the goods, or replacing the goods or of acquiring equivalent goods.

What is finestvinyl.com.au?

Why Vinyl? To you, is that really a question worth asking? The internet is full of ideas about it: a beautifully inconvenient medium for the hipsters, a time capsule for the nostalgic, the choice of the audiophile connaisseur…what have you. As vinyl is booming, will the bubble burst eventually? Are you a better person for committing to "the real deal" or simply a hoarder, who doesn’t understand streaming and the new digital markets?

 

Frankly, it doesn’t bother us too much. We just like music and we like it on vinyl.

 

Not content with merely treasuring our record collections, we started manufacturing, distributing and selling vinyl. Which brings you into the equation. Because you might just be the same as us.

If you are a record shop or retailer, we’d like to offer you a peek into our catalogue; whilst we’re currently setting up our B2B-site on www.finestvinyl.com.au to give our retail customers a convenient, fast and comprehensive catalogue and online order tool, we are old-school enough to understand the importance of a personal contact, so we are available in person, by phone and e-mail as well (and if you want to send a fax we might even be able to do that!). Our Melbourne warehouse and weekly shipments from Europe provide easy and reliable access to international vinyl records leaving you with lots of vinyl and domestic shipping only.

If you are a musician, band or label, and looking for a good deal in getting your 12", 10" or 7" manufactured, don't hesitate contacting us for our rates and options. We work with the majority of european pressing plants to provide the best fees and service possible, whilst being able to provide for even the most extravagant design and setup for your records. Weekly shipments to our warehouse in Melbourne provide faster shipping and lower rates, and personal contact is a given for any questions regarding technicalities, advise or just basic troubleshooting. 


Finestvinyl Australia is brought to you by music fans, by diggers and collectors, musicians, journalists, music maniacs and specialists, freaks and geeks. This specific concoction of misfits is what the company has been built on in its origin in Germany and Europe, and this concept will be continued here, reinvented as an Australian company, with a focus on the domestic market and close ties to the local scene.
